Safety Recall Notice
SUBJECT: Certain Louisville, Featherlite, Lite & Century brand Attic Stairways with Gas Struts and ¼” chrome-colored spreader bolts (see below)
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada Louisville Ladder, Inc. (Louisville Ladder) is conducting a voluntary recall of certain Louisville, Featherlite, Lite & Century brand Attic Stairways. Only units with Gas Struts, ¼” chrome-colored spreader bolts, and the below model numbers are included. There have been limited reports of a spreader bolt breaking, posing a potential fall hazard.
You should STOP USING THE RECALLED ATTIC STAIRWAYS IMMEDIATELY and contact Louisville Ladder through one of the methods below to obtain a free repair kit consisting of replacement ¼” spreader bolts, washers, and lock nuts, with installation instructions. The replacement bolts have been tested to meet Louisville Ladder’s design specifications for Grade 5.
The recall only includes the below Model Number Attic Stairways and UPCs, which were manufactured on or before June 22, 2026, have gas struts and ¼” chrome-colored bolts used in the spreader assembly. If your Attic Stairway has yellow-colored spreader bolts, it has already been corrected.
